This has been another incredible season for Trinity Christian School Varsity Track and Field!
Our Varsity Boys placed first in Boys WPIAL 2A Section 7 and our Girls took second in Girls WPIAL 2A Section 7!
(See explanation of Track and Field sections at the end of this, if you are curious!)
Because of this, both of our teams went to the WPIAL 2A Team Semifinals on April 30!
Our TCS Boys Team and TCS Girls Team both deserve so many congrats! We are so proud of all of you! To make it to the WPIAL Team Playoffs really requires effort from every player—and you did it! This is only the 3rd time our Boys have won the section! The last time was in 2016. And the Girls' last playoff appearance was in 2014! Congrats!!!
What a season!!!

WPIAL 2A Individual Championships Wrap Up
Based on individual race times during the season, we had several athletes also qualify for the WPIAL Individual Championships!
This was held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 and based on successes there, some athletes have also qualified for States and are headed to the PIAA State Championship this Friday and Saturday! Typically those who place in the top six at WPIAL Championships advance to States and usually the top 8 places get a spot on the Champions Podium—like two-time 800m Champion Eilidh below!
Senior Eilidh Edgar defended her title and is the Repeat WPIAL 2A 800 Meter Champion!
She ran half a mile in 2:14.96—advancing her for the third year in a row to the PIAA State Championships!
Last year she came in 3rd in the whole state at 2:15.98!
Senior Caleb Schmidt ran a mile in 4:21.35! This 1600 Meter time set a school record!
He finished 6th place and thus qualified for the PIAA State Championship again! This will also be Caleb's third time at States!
4x400 Boys Relay Team
Darnell Kyte, Travis Felicien, Caleb Bates, and Caleb Schmidt came in 4th place with a time of 3:29.40 and qualified for the PIAA State Championship! As is normal practice, we will bring alternates for the relay team to States—so these four gentlemen as well as Michael Scott and Graham Hughes will also be attending States this week!
4x400 Relay Winners Podium!
The rest of our athletes who made it to WPIAL had great showings too!!!
Sophomore Caleb Bates just missed the WPIAL Podium—He came in 9th place in the 400m with 51.50!
Our girls relay also placed at the WPIAL Championships!
Girls 4x400 Relay Elena Myers, Norah Koerber, Eilidh Edgar, and Elena Hilton 11th place, 4:13.56.
Sophomore Elena Myers in the 100m at WPIAL Championships. She is already our fastest female sprinter in TCS history!
The PIAA website will have live updates and other info here!

Congrats to our Boys and Girls teams for a wonderful season and Godspeed to Eilidh Edgar, Caleb Schmidt, and our Boys 4X4 Team for their upcoming races at States this weekend!
*For Track and Field, we are in WPIAL 2A Section 7. WPIAL is one of the 12 districts of the PIAA (the state association of school sports) and schools are placed into either Class 2A or Class 3A depending on school size. Then within WPIAL, we are divided into sections within those classes.
Our regular season may be comprised of exhibitions against anyone, but we must compete against everyone in Section 7 in order to qualify for the WPIAL Team Playoffs—semifinals then championship. Both our Boys and our Girls teams went to the Team Semifinals April 30.
Also in Track and Field, individuals who make qualifying times may attend the WPIAL Individual Championships—this is what the athletes listed above attended on May on 14. There is some nuance, but typically the top six winners of each WPIAL event qualify for the PIAA State Championship. Eilidh, Caleb, and the boys 4x4 team (Caleb, Caleb, Darnell, Travis, as well as two alternates Graham and Michael) have all advanced and will compete Friday May 23 and/or Saturday May 24.
